[Fuck Konami MegaThread] UE4 remake of PT has received a C&D from Konami and thus been taken down.
So you have companies like Valve that fucked millions of their fans when they didn't release Half Life 3. Now I'm not defending them, but they let the franchise die peacefully to some extent. Fans are welcomed to make small mods, maps, or even fully playable games, like Black Mesa. Even the shitty excuse of a game that is Hunt Down The Freeman is selling on Steam. If you want to make a Half Life 3, no one is stopping you. The franchise is for the fans to do as they please with.
On the other hand, we have Konami. I swear these guys take being shitty as a competition. They probably have a whole department working tirelessly on how to become the shittiest company in the industry; it is unacceptable for someone to do something shittier than them.
Silent Hill, a franchise that has been beaten to death countlessly in the past years finally seemed to have died with the cancellation of Silent Hills, which we only saw a Playable Teaser(PT) off. It is basically a demo, a small fraction of the game. It was cancelled for reasons we won't discuss here, so they removed the PT from the PS Store. A dick move, but can be ignored at this point. Now that someone makes a remake of this DEMO for FREE, the same demo they didn't and don't make any money from, they take it down. The franchise is basically dead. It is past beyond the 'milking for money' phase; they already did that. So it was the one thing the fans are still looking forward to, and they destroyed it.
If you know me as a mod, I've been somewhat strict in the past about cursing Konami. I've said that we should be 'civil' and 'professional' as a fanbase. I even organized an AMA with their US social media manager, Ben (/u/KonamiUSSocial). But they don't even care about that. If they won't act professionally, we will do the same. I know they won't care at all, and it will basically have no effect on them, but Konami's Reddit account has been banned from this subreddit, and any representative of the company is no longer welcomed here.
I swear at this point, even if Konami makes a new Silent Hill by Team Silent, I won't pay them a single dollar for any game they make. They have gone way too far.
So yeah, Fuck Konami.
